The membership participates in a wide range of golfing activities designed to promote interaction among all members. The tournament schedule is ongoing throughout the year and is specifically designed to provide both fun and competition for Everyone in the Family. From the Member Guest to the Couples Club Championship, proving your golf skills among family and friends is an enjoyable pastime for the golfing membership at CCR.

The Men’s Golf Association administers a season long point race based on a series of tournaments throughout the year. The events include a Par Three, Captain’s Choice, Yellow Ball, Member Member, NFL, Club Championship, and a Turkey Shoot.

Points are accumulated based on your finish in these events and the “Top 25” gather at the end of the year for a special awards banquet in their honor. The MGA also administers the popular Tuesday Night Men’s League. The league features two nine week seasons where the two man teams square off each week in match play competition. Upon conclusion of the weekly competitions, the contestants gather at the scoreboard for a beer, dinner and a little good natured ribbing.

The Women’s Golf Program at Country Club of Roswell is governed by the CCR Women’s Golf Association. The WGA is comprised of two groups, the eighteen and nine holers. The eighteen holers have two sub groups, the Wednesday women and the Business Women who play on Saturday afternoons. There is a season long point competition, weekly play days, Interclub Team Play, and the group gathers numerous times a year for combined competitions such as the Ladies Club Championship and the Member Member. In the fall of each year, the two groups square off in a Ryder Cup style event to earn bragging rights for the year. The nine holers are a more social group and serve as the entry point for new golfers. They play on Wednesday mornings but a fledging group is playing on Saturday afternoons as well.

The Senior Men’s Golf Association oversees a large group of retired gentlemen who play golf each Tuesday and Thursday morning of the year. They also schedule monthly events and track the results in a season long point competition. Our seniors also compete in the Northeast Atlanta Senior Men’s Golf Association. The NASMGA is a group of private country clubs that host a monthly event at each of the member clubs.

The Junior Golf Program starts in February and concludes in October each year. The objectives of the program are to promote the game of golf, teach fundamentals of the swing, the rules, etiquette and safety. We also instill a respect for the golf course and all club facilities. The program is open to all children of Full privilege members and Tennis Seasonal Golf members at Country Club of Roswell that are 18 years old or younger. Children six years old and under are encouraged to participate in our Wee Linksters clinic program. The program is administered by Jackie Cannizzo with help from our Junior Golf Committee. The instructional clinic program starts in late February and takes place after school and on the weekends through the end of May. Beginning in June, the Juniors gather for weekly play days on Thursday mornings at 8am. The summer program concludes in August with a Adult Junior Tournament and Awards Banquet. The Awards Banquet features a raffle where the children use tickets they have earned throughout the summer for various activities such as practice, playing in Tournaments and participating in our instruction program. There is a fall clinic series for those who wish to continue with golf instruction after school resumes in August.

The Girls Golf Club is a program designed and implemented by Lisa Chirichetti from our Professional Staff. It is a program specifically designed to encourage young girls to participate in golf. It is a year long program where the girls meet once a month of a combination of activities that promote fun, friendships, and of course, golf. Some of the activities include a pool party, golf ball decorating, parent junior competition, bring a friend, and a season ending taco party.

Our Golf Instruction Program is designed for players of all abilities and is designed to suit every golfers needs. There are private lessons, video lessons, semi private lessons, clinics, schools, junior camps and “The Coach’s Program”. The “Coach’s Program” is a program designed by our Director of Instruction, Jackie Cannizzo for the player who wishes to make a commitment for a season to lowering scores. It includes weekly lessons and is tailored to each individual students needs. The staff also sponsors a year long “biggest loser” competition where members sign up with an instructor and compete in a year long competition to see who can drop the most strokes from their handicap.
