Roswell, Ga. (January 30, 2012) – Jackie Cannizzo, Director of Instruction at the Country Club of Roswell, was recognized as a Master Kids Teacher for 2011 by U.S. Kids Golf at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando on January 27. Cannizzo has been a junior golf instructor for over 25 years and also serves as the Director of National Team Development for Junior League Golf.

“I am very excited to be named a Master Teacher by U.S Kids Golf,” Cannizzo said. “It is an honor and something that while unexpected is much appreciated.”

The Master Kids Teacher award distinguishes individuals named to the U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Kids Teachers list three or more times. The Top 50 Kids Teachers Award recognizes golf professionals across North America who focus much of their time and energy on developing young golfers in their communities. The instructors are judged on several criteria, including percentage of time devoted to kids programs, creativity, communication and efforts to grow the game.

Including the 16 instructors being inducted this year, there are 55 individuals who have earned the distinction of Master Kids Teacher. This group represents 26 states and Canada and includes teachers who work at public, private, resort and municipal courses.

“The Master Kids Teachers represent a group of professionals who have demonstrated a dedication towards impacting the lives of young golfers over a sustained period of time,” said Dan Van Horn, founder and president of U.S. Kids Golf. “We are pleased to recognize their talents and commitment.”

U.S. Kids Golf, LLC is based in Atlanta, Ga., and manufactures equipment and related golf products made especially for kids. In addition to more than 4,000 golf shops and retail locations in the U.S., the company’s products also are available in over 75 countries worldwide.

The U.S. Kids Golf Foundation, a Georgia non-profit recognized as a 501(c)(3) charity, was created in 2001 and provides services that include competition and instruction. The Foundation organizes more than 600 golf tournaments for kids each year, including Local Tours in more than 40 cities, ten Qualifiers across the nation, six Regional Championships, a European Championship and the U.S.  Kids Golf World Championship and Teen World Championship, which are held each year in Pinehurst, N.C.

In partnership with the PGA of America, the Foundation also supports the U.S.  Kids Golf Family Course program, which provides guidelines that help courses make the game easier to learn and more fun for kids and their families.

Country Club of Roswell is a private, member-owned, family-focused country club on the east side of Roswell. The Club features an 18-hole golf course, aquatic center, tennis facility, and full-service clubhouse and garden.
