Country Club of Roswell Junior Tennis

 
 
 
Tiny Tots (Ages 3-4)

An informal environment establishes a foundation for motor skill development; additionally, general, basic movement and coordination skills are introduced.

Quickstart Level 1(Ages 5-6) 36' Court

Games are an important part of the program, and the children are exposed to games that are both fun and tennis-related to increase their movement, balance, and basic coordination.

Quickstart Level 2(Ages 6-7) 36' Court
 This is a program of movement, balance, coordination and motor skill development. The focus is on self and partner-rallying skills on a smaller court to start the foundation of the child’s future tennis development.
Quickstart Level 3(Ages 7-8) 60' Court
 By the end of this program, a child is able to play tennis and use a full or abbreviated serving motion. The children learn how to move effectively to insure good positioning and balance for each shot.
Quickstart Level 4(Ages 8-10) 60' Court

Children learn the basics of tactical play for both singles and doubles with an emphasis on swing rhythm for forehands and backhands.

Quickstart Transistion(Ages 10-11) Full Court

The kids will make the transition from the 60’ court to the full court. This will involve using the Green Dot ball, with the goal to eventually move into using the yellow ball. This class will start focusing on singles and doubles strategy.

Junior Excellence Clinic (ages 11-14)

This class is designed for older beginners that have little to no experience. This class will focus on the basic fundamentals with the end goal moving into the intraclub match play league.

Junior Academy

This class is for tournament level kids. This class will focus on footwork, singles and doubles strategy, strength conditioning, sportsmanship and recognizing strengths and weaknesses of your opponent.

Junior Challenge Ladder(Quickstart/10 and under)

1. Best two out of three, four game sets with a first to seven point tiebreaker for the third set.

2. The ladder will be posted in the tennis shop with your name and picture on the ladder.

3. You can challenge one or two spots above your name.

4. You have one week to play your match when you are challenged.  If you do not play within the one week time period, you automatically are moved down below the person that challenged you. If you inform Chris that you will be on vacation for an extended amount of time, I will freeze your position for a maximum of one week.

5. You must play a minimum of two matches per month or you will be moved to the bottom of the ladder.

6. The challenger must provide a new can of balls for each match. If the challenger wins, the person that was challenged must give a new can of balls to the challenger.

7. The Junior Ladder will cost $5 to participate. This will cover the cost for trophies.

8. Trophies will be awarded to the challenge ladder champion and runner-up after each three month period.

9. Any junior caught changing the challenge ladder without pro approval will be removed from the ladder for the three month period.

 Junior Challenge Ladder (Full-Court/ 11 and up)

1. Regular two out of three sets with a seven point tiebreaker at six all. Ten point tiebreaker for the third set.

2. The ladder will be posted in the tennis shop with your name and picture on the ladder.

3. You can challenge one or two spots above your name. When challenging up a level you must be in first place of your current row and challenge the last place player of the row above.

4. You have one week to play your match when you are challenged.  If you do not play within the one week time period, you automatically are moved down below the person that challenged you. If you inform Chris that you will be on vacation for an extended amount of time, I will freeze your position for a maximum of one week.

CCR Intraclub League (Ages 8 and up)

The CCR Intraclub League will run in the fall and spring seasons. This league will be tailored towards players looking to begin match play or to add an additional day of matches to his or her schedule. This league will be comprised of 4-6 teams. This league will invovle using a "Tag Team" format.

 USTA Junior Team Tennis Summer 2011
Country Club of Roswell is pleased to announce that for the 2011 summer season, we will have a 10u, 12u and 14u beginner teams. These teams will have clinic throughout the week with the ability to clinic multiple times. Matches will be held on fridays at 10 am and the season runs from May 27th-July 8th. If your child is interested in joining either team, please call the tennis shop and we'll ge them signed up today.
