Personal Bests

Personal bests are great golfing feats performed by our members.  If you see any of these people around the club, please be sure to offer your congratulations.

On January 7th, David Lyons shot his personal best with a score of "78". Congratulations!!!

On December 15th, Ron Campbell had the first Hole-In-One of his golf career.  Ron holed his 7-iron on the 156 yard par 3 hole #7 to make his first ACE. 

On December 10th, Chris Sylvester had an Eagle on the 555 yard par 5, Hole #6.  He holed his pitching wedge from 118 yds. on his third shot to make a "3" on the hole.  His witness, Dr. Peter Gutschenritter, had a round of "73"!  Great playing guys !!!

Frank Thach had his 1st ever Hole-in-One on December 1st!! The Ace happened on the par 3, Hole #16 where Frank hit his PW from 110 yards.

On October 28th, Cary Williams had an Eagle on the par 4, Hole #1.  He holed his 8-iron for his second shot to make a "2" on the hole!!!  In addition he had three birdies and shot an 82. 

On October 26th, Kelly Gage-Cole had a personal best score of "77"!!!

On September 3rd, Ann Carstarphen, made a Hole-In-One on the par 3, Hole #2 while playing with the Saturday Business Ladies and playing their Red, White, and Blue format.  Ann used her 3-wood from the White tee markers and her ball flew 167 yds. and dropped in the hole for her "ACE".  Congrats!!!

On August 13th, Mike Roberson, made a Hole-in-One on the par 3, Hole #2. This is Mike's second Hole-in-One, but the 1st one at CCR's golf course. He used a 5-iron from 167yds.

On June 26th, Paul Troiano had his third "Eagle" in the past two months.  His "Eagle" was made on the par 5 Hole #13, where he holed his trusty and favorite club, his 7-iron, to score a "3" on the hole.

On June 25th, Sam Edmondson scored a personal best round at CCR of "78".

On June 15th, Fredna Schiavone made her second career Hole-in-One on Hole #2.  Fredna used her new favorite club, her 3 Hybrid, which kicked left off of the fringe and rolled straight into the hole.     

On March 29th, Kelly Gage-Cole recorded his all-time low score on nine holes, firing a blistering "38" on the front nine. Way to go!

On March 5th during the ever so soggy MGA Spring Thaw Tournament, Bill Barnes made an "Eagle" on the 496 yard Par 5 Hole #18.  Bill used his driver, then his 19* utiltity club, and sunk a fifteen foot putt for a "3"! 

On Super Bowl Sunday, February 6th, Joe Netzel, had his very 1st Hole-in-One!!! The feat came on the 176yds par 3 Hole #7. Joe hit a 6 iron and could not see where his ball ended up due to the strong glare of the sun. He found his ball's pitch mark 2 feet in front of the pin and the ball in the bottom of the cup! Congratulations!!! 

On January 30th, John Bryant, had his 3rd career Hole-in-One.  Our 167 yard par 3 Hole #2 has been good to John, as it's the second time he's scored a "One" on this Hole!!!  This feat was accomplished by a solid golf shot using his trusty #6 Baffler.

On November 2nd, Dennis "ACE" Kerr, had his 10th...that is correct folks...10th Hole-in-One. This time the feat came on the par 3 Hole #11 where Dennis hit his rescue club from 167 yds. Congrats!!!

On October 15th, Ken Franz had a Hole-in-One on the par 3 Hole #2. Ken hit a beautiful 5 iron straight at the pin...one bounce and rolled right in!!

On October 13th, Reuben Smith scored a round 2 shots under his age.  We're not going to tell his age, but he shot a great even par round!!!  :)

On October 8th, Carolyn Williams had her first Hole-in-One!! The Ace happened on the par 3 Hole #2. Carolyn hit her trusty 7-wood from 130yds, the ball took a couple of bounces and ended up at the bottom of the cup!!! Congratulations!!!

On September 25th, Jack Shipkoski had a personal best score of 77!!!  He finally broke "80" at CCR after shooting that number on seven seperate occasions.  Congrats on your personal best. 

On September 2nd, Dave Schwartzenfeld had his first Ace ever!! The Hole-in-One came on the Par 3 Hole #11. At a distance of 136 yds Dave hit his 9-iron and had the pleasure of watching his ball bounce once and then roll in the cup. Congrats!!

On September 1st, Bob Bertrand had Hole-in-One...this one to make it his 11th Ace!!!

On September 1st, Janet Conrad had a personal best score of 99.  Congrats on breaking 100 for the first time!!!

On August 29th, Butch Webster scored a Hole In One during the Couples Battle of the Sexes Tournament.  His Hole in One came on the 157 yd. Par 3, Hole #2.   Butch used an 8-iron to make his One. 

On August 26th, Reuben Smith shot better than his age, firing an even par "71." Impressive!

On August 24th, Ron Allen played his best round ever, shooting a "79." Way to go Ron!

On July 16th, Carolyn Williams fired a personal best score of "94". Awesome!

On July 16th, Fredna Schiavone scored her personal best round of "91". Way to go Fredna!

On July 15th, Trevor Daniels went low, firing a personal best "71". Nice!

On June 20th, John Lee made his very 1st Hole in One on the par 3 hole #2. John hit a 5 iron from the blue tees at 195 yds away and one-bounced it into the hole. Congrats!!!

On June 13th during the 1st round of the "Gold Rush - Men's Member/Guest" Mike Human had a Hole-in-one on the par 3 hole #2. Mike's Team won that hole of course and a sure skin for that particular hole - so he thought. About 45 minutes later, Dave Swart also had a Hole-in-one. Dave's ace also came on the par 3 hole #2. Two aces on the same day on the same hole. Incredible!!! Mike didn't think so...his skin, erased!! 

On May 30th, Marilyn Wooten, on the date of her 36th Wedding Anniversary, scored her first Hole-In-One at the Walker Course at Clemson University.  Marilyn was playing with her son and daughter and used an 8-iron on the 95 yard Par 3 Hole #4.     

On May 9th, Jason Kuzia made a double-eagle on the par 5, Hole #6. Jason hit his 19* hybrid from 215yds away and the ball went in the hole for a spetacular "2".

On May 7th, Steve Ryf held and 8 iron from 120 yards away on Hole #1 for an eagle.

On April 10th, Adam Lafayette shot a personal best "71" that included a "31" on the front. Sweet!

On April 6th, Ed Hoppe scored a personal best "91". Way to Go!

On March 14th, Tina Zabkar flushed a 7-iron from 115 yards and it went into the back of the hole on the par 3 11th hole! Woohoo!

On March 4th, Emee Herbert, Junior Golfer and member of the GACS Girl's Golf Team, made her first Hole-In-One on the par 3 Hole #2.  Emee hit her 5-iron from 168 yds. an inch short of the hole and then her ball rolled right in.  Lisa was there to witness this spectacular event, and said it was a greaaaat shot!  

On February 19th, Phyllis Franz scored the first Hole-in-One of 2010 with a 7-iron on the par 3, hole #16.  Congratulations!!!  

On January 23rd, Stuart Barton holed out from 160 yards with a 6 iron for an eagle on the par 4 # 14! NIce Shot!

On November 4th, Charles Morell recorded an eagle on the par 4 #10 by holing out with a lob wedge from 50 yards. Nice Hole!!!

On November 4th, Charlie Feuchter scored his second best ever round of 75 at CCR.  A 3-wood / 7-iron "Eagle" on our 373 yard par 4 # 15 hole helped him with his fantastic round.  Way to go!!! 

On October 10th, after some first-class instruction from Jackie, Ken Adams fired an even par "71" from the blue tees.

On October 9th, Claire Burak pured a 5 hybrid into the back of the cup on the par 3 # 16 for her very first Hole-in-One. Congratulations!

On September 23rd, Ken Franz scored a Hole-in-One on our 167 yard Hole #2 with a 5-iron.

On September 20th, Ian Stuttard had a personal best CCR round of "77" from the Blue Tees.  Ian and playing partner Butch Webster said it was a sloshy & wet but familiar, like back home, kind of rainy day that helped him have his spectacular round.   

On September 6th, Scott Masters had a career personal best round of "76" from the Blue Tees. 

On September 5th, Jim Waters fired his personal best of 75 from the white tees. 

On September 4th, Winanne Sutherland aced hole #16.

On September 1st, Ron Kolze shot a career round of "90" from the white tees. Congaratulations Ron!

On August 29th, Ramona Mendoza shattered her personal best by more than 6 strokes when during the BW "Beat the Pro" she scored an "84". Needless to say, she took both Pro'sTim & Lu to the cleaners - Congratulations!

On August 24th, Clay Bennett, while playing in the Keep Roswell Beautiful Golf Outing fired a course record 62 from the White Tees. 

On August 23rd, Tom Flowers aced the second hole with a 7 iron (although only Tom knows for sure) 

On August 22nd, Bob Burak holed his second shot for an eagle on #4 from 168 yards with a 5 wood. 

On August 22nd, Mike Wynn had a Hole-in-One on the par 3 hole 11 with a 6 iron from the white tees. Way to go Mike!

On August 14th, Billy Hatton had a Hole-in-One on the par 3 hole 11 with a 7 iron from the blue tees.  Congratulations! 

On August 11th, Bob O'Brien posted his personal best score at CCR with a "78" from the white tees.

On August 1st, Molly O'Dea 1st eagled the par 4 hole #14 when she hit her 4 hybrid from 160yds away right into the hole. She continued the excellent play and scored her personal best with a "73".

On August 1st, Adam LaFayette fired a "34" on the back 9, to tie his personal best of "77". 

On July 31st, Maureen Braver had a personal best of "98" from the red tees. Awesome!

On July 28th, Chip Hall had a Hole-in-One on the par 3 hole 11 with a 5 iron. Congratulations!

On July 19th, Jimmy Nall had a personal best score of "71" from the white tees. Congratulations!

On July 10th, Butch Webster had a Hole-in One!!! This is Butch's very first hole in one and it came on the par 3, Hole #7. He was playing from the blue tees, at 192yds and slam dunk the ball right into the cup. Congratulations!

On July 2nd, Alan Balch scored his all-time personal best round of "84" at the Country Club of Roswell.

On June 24th, Marilyn Miles had a personal best front nine score of "47".

On June 20th, Michael Human had a personal best round of "75" from the Champions Tees.

On May 31st, Jane Kopcke had a hole-in-one on the par 3, hole #7. Jane hit a smooth 7-iron. This is Jane's 1st hole-in-one!

On May 31st, Matt Risse had a hole-in-one on the 179yd par 3,  hole #11.  The feat happened during the 2nd round of the CCR Open Championship and it was Matt's second Hole-in-one.

On May 21st, Don Hedrick aced hole #16 with a 7 iron. Richard Williamson witnessed the feat and said the shot looked like LaBron James dunking a golf ball.  It went straight into the cup. Mr. Hedrick claims the wind was in his face. 

On May 1st, Don Zabkar toured our links in a scorching 71 stokes for his best ever. 

On April 29th, Chris Soffe scored his personal best. Chris played from the blue tees and scored a "78".

On April 19th, Pete Derrington had a Hole-in-one on the par 3, Hole #11. Pete hit a 5-iron from 163 yds. His lucky shot was witnessed by his buddies Jon Kastriba, Scott Masters and Phil Morrison.

On April 19th, Mitch Bailey had his personal best at CCR. He scored a "87" with a "39" on the back nine.

On April 18th, Jim McMenamin made an eagle on the par 4, Hole #17. Jim hit a 7-iron for his second shot.

On April 18th, Ken Bright had a Hole-in-one on the par 3 hole #11. Ken hit a 4-iron from the Blue tees (185yds). His ball hit the front of the green and rolled right in the middle of the hole.

On April 18th, Mike Kane had a career round of "94".  Mike had 3 pars and a birdie with his favorite golfing witness Al Borm to verify the "52" he started out with on the back nine and turned to finish on the front with an all time low front nine "42".

On April 11th Ron Kemp fired a 77 at Lake Toxaway Country Club in North Carolina.   He had 12 pars and six bogies on his way to his best round ever.

On April 10th, Molly O' Wagner hit the perfect shot on the par 3, Hole #16 and yes, had her first hole-in-one!!! Congrats.

On April 4th, Jimmy Nall had his first Hole In One! It happened on the par 3, hole #16 during the MGA Yellow Ball Tournament. Jimmy hit a PW, and for his team's luck it happened to be on a hole where it was his turn to play the yellow ball.

On March 21st, Marshall Kincheloe had her career round of "85" due to Lu's Red Zone Challenge.

On March 19th, Ron Campbell posted his lowest round at CCR with an "84".

On March 12th, Alan Balch had his personal best by breaking 90 for the first time and posting an "89".

On March 10th, Steve Ryf posted his personal best with a score of "65". Steve's round was made of 8 birides and 1 double bogie, he had a 30 on the front nine and 35 on the back. Congratulations!!!

On February 25th, Lynn Foster posted her personal best score for nine holes on the front 9 with a "50", that included a birdie on the Par 3 7th hole.

On February 13th, David Hettinger posted his personal best score for nine holes on the front 9 with a "33".  David only needed 8 putts to card 3 birdies, 1 bogey e 5 pars.

Also on February 8th, Marshall Kincheloe had her career low score for 9 holes when on the back 9 she posted a "39".

On February 8th, Paul Troiano struck a pure sand wedge from 90 yards out that went in the hole, resulting in an eagle on the tough Par 4 hole # 10.

On January 31st, John Dawson recorded the rare hole-in-one on the Par three Hole #11. He struck the shot with a seven iron.

On January 29th, Richard Williamson scored an Eagle on the Par four Hole #9. 

On January 9th, Don Wilson scored the first Eagle of the year on Hole #1.  Don holed out for the 2, as witnessed by Mr. Steve Richards.

On December 26th,  the Smith family recorded a rare golfing feat.  Chris bunkered his tee shot on hole number ten.  Upon completion of a glowing review on the design of the hole, Chris holed his second shot for an eagle two.  Not to be outdone, Dave holed his second shot on number twelve also for an eagle two. 

On December 12th, Steve Ryf braved the cold and wind to Eagle the Par 4 10th hole.  Steve hit a 3 wood off of the tee which came to rest in the fairway bunker.  From there he skillfully played a wedge that hit and released into the center of the cup.  If you happen to see Steve around the club, congratulate him on this rare feat.  I'm sure we've all put a ball or two in the water from that bunker.

On November 23rd, Marilynn Miles posted her personal best score for 9-holes. Marilynn scored a "48" on the back nine, making it the first time she had a score below "50".

Hole-in-One - On November 21st, on a blistering 27* cool day, Dennis "Ace" Kerr, had the 9th hole-in-one of his career. Dennis aced the par 3 Hole #7 from 152 yds. His 5 iron hit the mound in the middle of the green which made the ball jump a little to the right and roll in the center of the cup. Dennis's witness was his friend Chris Allen.

On November 16th, John O'Connor was playing golf with his buddies as part of his Birthday Celebration and posted his personal best score with a "84". Congratulations and Happy Birthday!

Hole-in-One - On November 16th, on a chilly windy Sunday morning, Phil Waagner had an " ACE" on the 160 yard par 3, hole #7.  Phil used a 6-iron for his favorite shot of the day.  Phil's witnesses were his good pals Mark O'Connell and Paul Troiano.      

On November 15th, Jim McMenamin started his day with an eagle "2" on the par 4, hole #10. Jim hit a "sandiron" from 100yds away that went straight in the hole. He followed the eagle with another "2", a birdie this time, on the par 3 hole #11.

On November 14th, Marilynn Miles was 6" away from a Hole-in-One on the Par 3, Hole #16. Marilynn went on to record her first birdie!

On November 11th, Ann Cully posted her career low 9-hole score. Ann scored a "48" and broke  the 50 mark for the first time.

Also on November 11th, Tara Carvin had her career best by breaking the 50 mark with a score of "49" on the front nine.

On November 8th and during the MGA Closing Event - The Turkey Shoot Tournament two of our Members posted their personal best scores. Al Borm scored a "97" and also went on to win the event and Jeff DeHaven who scored a "78". Congratulations to both!!!

Hole-in-One
- On November 6th, Fredna Schiavone finally got even with her nemesis hole, dreaded number 16.  With her husband John and Karen Belote as witnesses the revenge couldn't have been more sweet.  Fredna used a 7-iron to "ACE" the 84 yard par 3.    

On Novemver 2nd, Steve Handel  posted his career best score with a "73".

Hole-in-One - On October 21st, Bob Thomas had a hole-in-one on the par 3 hole #16. It happened during the SMGA Closing Tournament and that was Bob's first shot of the day. He hit a 9-iron off the tee and it went straight in the hole.

On October 17th, Al Lobuglio posted his low round here at CCR. It was a cool and rainy day and Al still scored a "74".

On October 7th, Sharon Herndon holed her second shot on hole #1 for an eagle 2.  Not bad for a beginning golfer who had not even made a birdie yet. 

On October 5th, Peter Gutschenritter scored an Eagle by hitting his 3-wood in the hole for a three on the par 5 Hole #13. 

On October 2nd, Patti Dorfman improved her personal best score by 7 shots with a new personal best score of "95".
Also on the same day Dee Northcutt had a nine hole personal best of "49" on the back nine.

On September 26th, Marilyn Wooten scored a personal best round of "82". 

On September 21st, Steve Handel breezed around the front nine in a one under par "34" for his best nine hole score ever. 

On September 20th, Mary Springgate fired a "88" for her personal best eighteen hole round.

On September 19th, Ken Franz recorded his best round ever with a "75".
Also, during a practice round for the Horsebend Ladies Member Guest, Kim Humberstone aced their uphill par three #11 with a 7 wood.

On September 14th, Craig Lotz almost drove the green on #12 and then chipped it in for an eagle 2. 

On September 12th, Chris Weyand recorded her round to remember of "92". 

On September 7th, Susan McMillan fired nines of 39 and 46 on her way to her best ever score of "85".
