The WAVE Swim Team

THE WAVE 2009

We are very excited to have Patricia Williams as our Head Coach this season. Joining Patricia, the Assistant Coaches are Julia Treible, Chris Treible and Christina Coloma. All of our coaches have competed at the local, state and even the national level.  We are very anxious to start practice, and we anticipate a very competitive season. Please remember that a Swim Team involves the whole family, and we look forward to this opportunity to share the experience with everyone.

The League Championship meet is June 27th and the finals on June 28th, at the Georgia Tech pool, and we would like to see many or all of our swimmers in attendance.  See the schedule below.

Parent participation is critical to the smooth operation of any swim team.   A Swimmer Meeting and a Parent Meeting are scheduled on May 10^th at the pool.  These meetings will run concurrently so that all of the information may be covered.  The times of the meetings are listed below. 

This year we will require each family to work one 2-hour session at 3 of the meets, so be sure you have signed up on the Volunteer schedule for each swim meet so that the team reps will not have to assign you to a shift. 

The league has strict rules regarding participation and last minute substitutions at meets. Therefore, our coaches have established the “Miss the Meet” form that must be filled out at least one week in advance of an absence at a meet, so they are aware that you will not be in attendance at a meet. Failure to fill out the form and give it to a coach results in unnecessary line up changes and the possibility of a fine.

The top 20 11 – 18 year olds and the top 30 10 and under swimmers competing in individual events in the League Divisional Meet will compete in the Championship Finals on June 28. 

The top 10 relay teams during the League Divisional Meet will also compete in the Championship Finals on June 28.
